Joseph Smith Papers

The Joseph Smith Papers provide online and published versions of all documents related to the life, work, and associations of LDS Church founder Joseph Smith.  The JSP website offers a searchable database for key words and topics within the papers, some of which relate to women.

Nauvoo Relief Society Minute Book

Perhaps the most significant and valuable item for LDS women’s studies within the Joseph Smith Papers is the original Minute Book of the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo fully available online.   This women’s “law and constitution” recorded all proceedings of the Society between March 1842 and March 1844 –including elections, ordinations, teachings by Emma and Joseph Smith, and women’s blessings.

LDS Church Website

The official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains an array of resources and materials for members including women.

LDS Web Pages for Women

These official web pages of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contain a vast wealth of new content specifically for and about LDS women.  They feature topics ranging from women’s history and female missionaries to women’s Conference sessions and Mother in Heaven, along with full texts of new books on women. Pages also link to sub pages that discuss specific themes, like the Woman’s Exponent.
